It is still unknown whether cosmology is advancing in a right direction or not; Pace obviously is improving day by day. Imagination – The most powerful tool of any human era – now need some sort of invisible energy or matter or both to accomplish further goals. The assumption obviously is not blind as we know that every flavor of universe i.e. open, close or flat need specific amount of matter and energy. Fortunately approximate calculation of known matter shows that there must be some invisible matter and energy otherwise our system cannot sustain.
The story begins in 1998 when two astronomers tried to find the rate with which our universe was slowing down but the results they found was not only opposite but challenging to human race. They found our universe expanding with accelerating speed. The question is how our universe is expanding as gravitational force is holding things firm. The only logical answer is that their must be some sort of gravitational-Repulsive force which is helping our universe to expand. The energy is unseen and hypothetical hence called as dark energy.
Michael S. Turner of the University of Chicago said:
"For 70 years, we've been trying to measure the rate at which the universe slows down. We finally do it, and we find out it's speeding up,"
To understand it further one can assume this example. Take a ball and throw it in any direction with some velocity, you will notice that with the passage of time the velocity goes down and eventually fell to zero, this all happen due to resistive forces. Incase of throwing upward, one can easily notice negative acceleration. Now after throwing a ball if it goes higher and higher then one may conclude the absence of resisting forces but increase of acceleration mean that their must be some hidden force which is taking the thing away from a point.
Some cosmologist and theorist have proposed even distribution of dark energy in the whole universe. I am uncomfortable with the proposal due to many reasons.
- Either this even distribution occurred at big-bang or with the passage of time.
- The even distribution of dark energy means even calculation of big-bang and its prospects on the whole universe. I think it's positively unrealistic.
- If universe is filled with evenly distributed energy then the rate of expansion throughout the universe must be same.
- The most dramatic thought is keenly related to destruction of this universe as I am in favor of universe end. What sort of destruction will occur and what are the effects of this evenly distributed dark energy on the destruction of universe.
Some people may argue with the third point especially but thinking of big-bang in depth with the proposed even distribution of dark energy might reveal them insight.
I believe that this uncertain imagination about unknown matter and energy of this mysterious universe will lead us toward the right direction. It is also impossible for universe to expand for ever due to the nature of a system i.e. a continuous destruction and apprehension of the universe from the first day will never lead the figures toward immortality. Our universe might be a balance of power between different forces either weak or strong and its life too depends upon this balance, the unstable balance means – no more universe. It is very obvious "as far as I perceive" that we can never formulate an optimized system as we cannot look beyond our partially known universe.
